CCA named AEE Organizational Member of the Year

In November of 2002, CCA President Dev Pathik received the prestigious Association of Experiential Education (AEE) Organizational Member of the Year Award at the 2002 International AEE Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota. During his acceptance speech Dev challenged everyone in the field of experiential education to take a “super proactive role in reaching out to the people you want to serve”. He went on to say “They deserve to participate in your experiences”. Dev also commented that great marketing systems are “aligned with an organization’s values and guiding principles, and in the field of experiential education that means we need to empower our prospective clients to make good choices for themselves. We cannot use manipulative or deceptive marketing practices as a means of getting people to participate in programs that teach personal empowerment”. Home video footage of portions of Dev’s acceptance speech can be viewed here.

CCA Awarded Roberts Award of Excellence

CCA Vice President and Creative Director Gary Greer and CCA President Dev Pathik were honored in 2001 with the distinguished Roberts Award of Excellence. Roberts Printing is responsible for thousands of print pieces each month. Gary and Dev received crystal trophies and a certificate of recognition for their concept, copy, creative direction, and graphic design on the Telluride Teamworks brochure. The brochure is designed to tell a visual story about teambuilding and group events in Telluride, Colorado. Gary and Dev traveled to the site to direct a photo shoot and then spent approximately 6 weeks writing copy, designing the layout, and overseeing the printing process. Sample pages from the brochure are included in our portfolio.

CCA Sponsors AEE Receptions

As a way of giving back to the experiential learning community CCA chose to sponsor evening receptions for both the 2001 and 2002 AEE International Conferences. The 2001 program in Charleston, West Virginia included appetizers and drinks as well as a short speech from CCA President Dev Pathik. The 2002 Northwoods Reception was held at the St. Paul Ramada on November 7. It included music, drinks, and an opportunity for conference attendees to socialize.

Dev Pathik to Return to speak to Division of The American Advertising Federation

In March 2001, Dev Pathik spoke to the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Advertising Federation, for the second time in 3 years. Pathik’s first appearance was in 1998 when he presented a session on teamwork as the basis for successful creative products. The session received rave reviews and Dev was asked to return in 2001 to lead a second workshop. This time Dev led a session on creativity and innovation. The focus of Dev’s 2001 appearance was on the importance of creative dissonance and “we” thinking in the innovation process. The audience for both workshops included advertising executives, graphic artists, website developers, and marketing specialists. In early 2003 The Ad Fed requested additional dates from Dev.

CCA achieves 93% Return Rate on Client Services

In late 2002, CCA conducted an analysis to determine what percentage of our clients choose to return to us within 1 year after their initial service. The results were encouraging. In 1999 the percentage of returning clients (PRC) was 80%. In 2000 we achieved a PRC of 87%. 2001 the PRC increased to 92% and in 2002 our PRC was over 93%. We view this as an indication that our services are valued by the people who know them best - our clients! Thanks to everyone that has entrusted us with their hard earned money. We understand that you expect a high rate of return for the investment you make with CCA.

CCA Chairman Dev Pathik interviewed by Outside Magazine

In December 2000, Dev Pathik’s was quoted in an Outside Magazine article. The subject of the article was challenge courses as recreational adventure venues in France. Dev was asked to speak about trends in the Challenge Course Industry in the US and whether he believed that the European trend of Aerial Trekking would begin to appear in the States.
